Distillation is a process when water is boiled the steam rises and when it is cooled, the water vapor converts back to pure water. Distillation duplicates nature's process of purification of water. In a controlled situation such as boiling water and cooling quickly in a catchments storage tank or container, the process of cleansing occurs, removing waterborne biological contaminants such as bacteria, viruses, organic and inorganic minerals, chemicals, heavy metals, volatile gases etc. Distillation purification removes more than 99.8% of all contaminants, thus producing a very high quality of water. Independent Laboratory testing proves that technologically advanced water distillers such as Divine are effective at removing greater than 99.8% of all contaminants.

In Brief
The Divine Water Distillers come equipped with everything that is needed to connect to your water supply. A complete set of connectors are supplied to cater for most tap fittings. The Divine units also come with a pre-carbon filter that removes VOC [Volatile Organic Chemicals] before the water is channeled to the boiling chamber for distillation.
The filter is good for an average of 5,700 litres of water and depending on the frequency of your usage of the Divine distiller it could last you between one and one and a half year. Changing one pre-carbon filter is very economical. Manufacturer of the Divine distillers recommends that chemicals be removed by pre-carbon filter (first one supplied) before boiling as boiling the chemicals in the water will created volatile gas and it will vaporized. In an enclosed room such volatile gas will stay in the room and breathing the gas is believed to be detrimental to our health and hence the recommendation to remove them through pre-carbon filter before distillation. Divine Distillers also come with a post-carbon filter as well, which is the final stage of the water purification process. A sachet of coconut charcoal accompanies each distiller and will last two usage or 5 to 6 months (each change is recommended for each two and a half to three months). Coconut Charcoal in containers can be purchased either at the time of purchase of a new Divine or can be purchased at a later stage.

The Divine Water Distiller has a circuit board type of circuitry which makes any maintenance or repair so much simpler than other automatic water distillers. The Divine distillers boast of a simple and practical modern design where it has NO mechanical floats and NO float seals. Other old fashion design automatic water distillers that have these mechanical floats and float seals often are the cause of distillers to leak, fail or create problems. Detection of water level in the boiling chamber and holding tank is done by sensors, thereby eliminating the possible failures of floats, seals mechanical switches that are common in many automatic distillers. Further there is plenty of room for easy access to the electrical connectors thereby servicing the water distiller could not be simpler. The Divine comes complete with the stainless steel boiling chamber on the top, and the stainless steel storage tank below for the purified water, and is virtually assembled. Installation is as easy as three steps. One; attach the faucet on the front by hand as no tools are needed. This faucet with sight-glass shows how much water is contained in the storage tank. Two; unscrew one screw at the back of the unit to attach the pre-carbon filter and slot in the post-carbon filter that sits on top of the storage tank. Three; attach an incoming water line to the distiller with the sturdy white water tube and also tee-pipe connectors supplied. Very easy to install compared to other automatic water distillers. Drain valves are already installed on the Divine water distillers, and practically no plumber is required. Just follow the simple installation instructions which accompany the unit.
Both the heating element and the solenoid valve are stainless steel. As in most distillers the Divine also has a pin opening vent in the cooling coil for volatile gases to vent. The fan for the cooling coil is protected with a shroud to prevent the fan blade from knocking the coil during freight of the unit.
OUTSTANDING TEN-YEAR WARRANTY
Divine carries one (1) full year warranty against defects in materials on all electrical components & other parts and labour, and ten (10) years limited warranty on all stainless steel parts. If the unit is found to have defective electrical and other parts within the first year, the parts will be repaired or replaced at no cost to the customer. Warranty on the stainless steel parts are warranted on a fully pro-rata replacement cost.
During the first five years from the date of purchase, stainless steel parts are warranted on a full replacement of parts or cost.
After five years from the date of purchase the stainless steel parts are warranted on a fully pro-rata replacement cost basis not to exceed 10 years from date of purchase. This warranty is void if the damage of defect is caused by Act of God, accident, customer abuse, unauthorized alteration or repair, vandalism or misuse. ABOUT 20 times the recommended fluoride was accidentally added to Brisbane water supplies two weeks ago.
Premier Anna Bligh today said the first breach of safety guidelines had occurred between 9am and midday on Friday May 1.
The water should have had 1.5 milligrams per litre of fluoride but test results released this week showed it had between 30 and 31 milligrams per litre.
About 300,000 litres of water was released from a fluoride treatment plant
at North Pine Dam.
The water flowed into as many as 4000 households in Brendale and Warner
on Brisbane's northside.

What's the science of water distillation?

From http://ukagainstfluoride.blogspot.com: The names of hundreds of people opposed to adding fluoride to Totton's water supply were added to a 9,000-strong petition to be handed to the prime minister. The signatures were presented by Coun. David Harrison to Hampshire Against Fluoridation (HAF) members Caroline Place and Myra Metcalfe, in front of the town's war memorial. The full list of objectors will be submitted to 10 Downing Street later. Some 8,000 people in Totton are due to have fluoride in 2010 after the South Central Strategic Health Authority (SHA) approved Southampton Primary Care Trust's proposal, which affects some areas outside the city because of the layout of the pipes. About 190,000 will be affected in total and despite opponents losing the battle, they have not given up and are also planning legal action. Fluoridation could be further
delayed if charges of biased consultation are upheld and a re-run is ordered. Totton councillor Harrison told the A&T: "It seems fitting to present the petitions at the site of the war memorial — so many people fought and died in the cause of preserving democracy in this country. "It now seems that we are to be forced into consuming this medication without our consent. I thank everyone who has takcn the trouble to spell out their feelings. The battle is still on-going ".
